History & Purpose

Affordable Community Housing Trust and all affiliates are California non-profit organizations recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as 501(c)3 entities. ACHT entities operate as tax-exempt organizations dedicated to serving the housing needs of lower income individuals, families, the elderly and those with special needs. ACHT's current board members have significant knowledge and experience in real estate valuation, ownership and operations as well as other areas of expertise. ACHT founders began their work in the 1960's when an ecumenical effort for housing and care of the elderly was carried out successfully by Trinity Cathedral Church (Sacramento) and Retirement Housing Foundation (Long Beach) in California. Since its formation in 1992, ACHT entities have owned or developed over 1,100 multi-family and senior housing apartments with an aggregate asset value of more than $70 million. However, while ACHT seeks opportunities for expansion and new relationships to further our mission, every corporate decision is made with the care deserving of the service in which ACHT has at the center of its purpose and reason for existence.

Mission Statement

"Affordable Community Housing Trust provides housing opportunities and services to seniors, low-income individuals and families, according to their needs, in environments that encourage positive growth in all areas of our residents' lives."

Operating Philosophy

Affordable Community Housing Trust strives to operate a stable, national coalition of multi-family housing properties with integrity as we serve others. While we operate in a business-like manner, we operate as well to bring the love and compassion of Christ through assisting those in need - be it physical, mental or spiritual. ACHT and the ACHT subsidiaries believe in developing and maintaining strong community ties wherever ACHT facilities are located in order to serve not only our residents but also the surrounding community – encouraging those less fortunate with God's love.
